2026 - 2027 School Year
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Throughout the school year, teachers will be taking our students off campus for a variety of reasons. In most cases, these are formal field trips where parents are notified in advance, and will be asked to sign a trip specific permission form. However, there are occasions when teachers will take our students off campus such as when we have practices for cross country running, School Wide or Class walk/run, and a variety of activities to satisfy the Daily Physical Activity (DPA) requirements.
This form is asking for your permission to take your child on these activities without being notified in advance. Your permission will be restricted to a select number of streets and places as listed below:
- All Naramata Village Streets (for school runs, village walks, outdoor exploration and other place-based learning opportunities)
- Manitou Park
- Wharf Park
- Centre Beach
- Creek Park
In all cases, teachers will be guiding the activity, a review of safety precautions with students will occur, and teachers will assess the activity for potential risks.
It is imperative that ALL students come prepared for physical activities EVERY day. Please ensure your child has appropriate footwear and is dressed appropriately for all weather, every day.
Accidents can be the result of the nature of the activity and can occur with or without any fault on either the part of the student, the school board and its employees or agents, or the facility where the activity is taking place. By allowing your student to participate in this activity, you are accepting the risk of an accident occurring, and agree that this activity, as described above, is suitable for your child.
